The YoMIL Media Guide App is an Android application that brings the YoMIL Media Guide offline — allowing readers to download the full guide and access it without an active internet connection. It was developed specifically for audiences in areas where data is expensive or connectivity is unreliable, ensuring that the guide's educational content remains accessible regardless of network conditions.
Taweza Technologies built the app from the ground up, optimising it for low-end Android devices with limited storage and RAM that are common across East Africa. The app supports in-app content updates so new editions of the guide can be pushed directly to users, and includes bookmarking, search, and chapter navigation. It is available on the Google Play Store and has been distributed through YoMIL's community partner networks.
